Does anyone have an explanation for why both Ray and Cooper's doppelganger are taken straight to the federal penitentiary in Yankton after their arrests? Normally they would be held in a local jail and need a trial, conviction and sentencing before being moved to a prison. I want to think they do things differently in South Dakota or that the show offered an explanation that I missed. I don't want to think this was an error David Lynch made through failing to research when writing the script.
