- In his magazine, Amazing Stories, Ray Palmer publishes "The Shaver Mystery," a series of articles by Richard Sharpe Shaver. These articles detailed Shaver's claims of his secret knowledge of a supposed race he called "Lemurians."[1]
- Fred Crisman writes a letter to Ray Palmer, claiming to have come across a Lemurian cave in Burma during his service in World War II. Palmer publishes the letter in Amazing Stories.[1]
