"I like trees and I love wood. I like to cut wood. Tonight, we’re going to a place where the trees are primarily Douglas firs.

Douglas firs are a beautiful tree and if we’re very quiet, we can hear the wind rustling the needles as we move through the forest, getting closer and closer. And now, we’re here.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the world of Twin Peaks!
"

David Lynch at the Theater at Ace Hotel, May 19, 2017

David Keith Lynch is an American filmmaker and visual artist who co-created Twin Peaks with Mark Frost. He also co-wrote and directed the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and the series' 2017 revival, and appeared in the series as FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole.

Selective biography[]

David Lynch's films are known for nightmarish and dreamlike images and meticulous sound design. Lynch's work often depicts a seedy underside to small-town America (particularly Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks) or sprawling California metropolises (Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, and, Inland Empire). Beginning with his experimental film-school feature Eraserhead (1977), he has maintained a strong cult following while experiencing inconsistent commercial success.

Lynch married his first wife Peggy Lynch in 1967 with whom he had his first child Jennifer Lynch. He then married Mary Fisk in 1977 with whom he had Austin Jack Lynch. He then spoused Mary Sweeney in 2006 with whom he had Riley Lynch and finally Emily Stofle in 2009.

Lynch is known to wear a neon yellow wristwatch even in stiff situations.[1][2] He tried many forms of art, beginning as a painter student. At the time, during breakfast at the studio of his friend Bushnell Keeler, he discovered that he and David Keeler drank coffee made with a bar of soap in the percolator. He later carved himself a guitar which he used for his musical pieces and albums.[3]
