Frank Silva was an American set dresser and actor who appeared as BOB in Twin Peaks and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. He appears posthumously as the character in the 2017 revival through the use of archive footage and special effects. Part 2 is dedicated to Silva.
Silva initially worked as a set dresser for Twin Peaks – having also done the job in David Lynch's Dune, Blue Velvet, The Cowboy and the Frenchman, and Wild at Heart – and was asked by Lynch if he was an actor, to which he said yes. Lynch filmed Silva crouching at the foot of Laura Palmer's bed. Along with this, when Silva's reflection in a mirror was accidentally filmed, the character of BOB was created.[1] He died on September 13, 1995.
