Johnny Jewel (born John David Padgett) is an American multi-instrumentalist, record producer, composer, and visual artist. Jewel owns and operates his own record label, Italians Do It Better.
In collaboration with David Lynch, Jewel composed several hours of original music for the Twin Peaks limited series, although little of it was ultimately used. Several songs from his solo album Windswept (2017) appeared in the series, including "Windswept" and "The Flame." Jewel subsequently released selections of the unused material as a new solo album, Themes for Television (2018).
As a member of his label's band the Chromatics, he performed and appeared as himself in "Part 2" and "Part 12" of the series.
