- 1968 – Dale Cooper and his father tour the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C. at the invitation of J. Edgar Hoover. On the way home, his father tells a story about his World War II service, and reminds Cooper he must always make up his own mind about things.[1]
- 1973 – Dale and his father return from their vacation/protest at Mount Rushmore.[1]
- 1982 – Douglas Milford publishes an article on the arrival of Major Garland Briggs and his family in Twin Peaks.[2]
