Leilani (née Esther Jacoby) was the mother of Robert and Lawrence Jacoby.
In 1939, Esther and her family moved to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii due to her husband's orders from the Navy. The following year, the couple suddenly divorced and Esther remained in Hawaii with her younger son, Lawrence. Shortly thereafter, she changed her name to Leilani.[1]
