Should we use the name with the umlaut like the name of the folklore creature or should we keep it out as written in the Man From Another Place onscreen subtitle? My opinion would be to stick to the franchise material (ie without umlauts) but i'm open to discussionRingoRoadagain (talk) 21:05, November 9, 2016 (UTC)

I think it's a small enough issue that we can go ahead and use the umlaut, as it is the technically correct use. If there were more than one instance of it, I would agree that we should change it, but for now I'd say we should go ahead and keep it this way. Either spelling doesn't really change anything. In the new episodes they still use "doppelganger" without umlaut the two times the word was spoken by the arm in Part 2. Should we stick with the spelling from the show's hard subtitles?RingoRoadagain (talk) 17:01, May 25, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I think that would be appropriate to use the spelling without umlauts now that we've seen it several more times. If you want to go ahead and take care of that, please do. Special Agent Dale Cooper (talk) 17:43, May 25, 2017 (UTC)
