I disagree with the assertion that Nadine's super strength was already present in season 1, we never saw demonstrate any super strength until season 2 when she woke from her coma and it appears from the shock that Ed expresses at seeing it that it is not something that he has ever witnessed in her before. Later in the season evrytime we see a demonstration of her strength it all appears as something new and unexpected form the point of view of anyone who witnesses it, and every witness is someone who has known her for years.
It is specifically revealed in the hospital during/following her coma, but early on during the drape runners, she easily bends the hell out of a rowing machines arm parts. It's there. I'm not convinced that it's completely accessible to her at that point considering that it is much more apparent after her coma.
